Food Boxes Assistance

Food Assistance

St. Vincent de Paul of Bend provides individuals and families in need with nutritious food boxes twice a month. Food boxes aim to provide individuals with enough groceries to prepare meals for 5 days.

St. Vincent de Paul of Bend operates a 1,000-square-foot, fully equipped food pantry. The food pantry provides more than 40,000 nutritious meals each month to nearly 1,000 Bend area households. According to the Oregon Food Bank’s local representative NeighborImpact, we are the second largest provider of food boxes in Deschutes County.

If you need food, please come to our office and speak with one of our receptionists.

You must meet the 2025 USDA – TEFAP Commodity Eligibility Guidelines to qualify for our program.

Prescription Assistance

Prescription Assistance

St. Vincent de Paul of Bend is dedicated to helping individuals who have no other means of obtaining essential prescription medications.

In emergency situations, we can assist with the cost of necessary prescriptions. To receive assistance, you must bring the total cost of your prescription. Assistance is available once every other month, for up to six months. Please note that we are unable to provide assistance for pain or narcotic medications.

Utilities Assistance

Utility Assistance

St. Vincent de Paul of Bend offers support to individuals at risk of losing electricity through Pacific Power.

Assistance is available only when you have received a shut-off notice indicating that service will be disconnected. Each month, we allocate a specific amount of funds on the first of the month, and assistance is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that these funds are designated for emergency situations only, and we are unable to assist with past-due balances in order to maximize our support. Depending on the circumstances, we may be able to cover only a portion of the amount due.

We can provide assistance with one utility per family every 12 months.

Propane Assistance

Propane Voucher

From October to December and again from January to March, St. Vincent de Paul Social Services of Bend provides up to 10 gallons of propane each month. This program is designed to assist individuals in our community who reside in outdoor camps.

To participate, you must have your own propane tanks. Vouchers can be redeemed exclusively at Red Carpet Car Wash South, located at 235 SE 3rd Street.

We aim to provide one coat per person each year. Additionally, if available, we can offer one sweater, fleece top, hat, scarf, pair of pants, or shoes per person.
