St. Vincents Place

Since the completion of our St. Vincent’s Place village in 2022 with the help and generosity of Hayden Homes, we have supported 7 individuals in their return to permanent housing.  Our village operates as a high-barrier shelter with an on-site Village Program Manager who oversees case management and daily operations. We currently have 10 individual units and a community room with bathrooms, laundry facilities, and a kitchen.

The goal of St. Vincent’s Place housing is to cut down the barriers that have systematically hindered homeless individuals in the past. It is already difficult enough to find housing in Bend, but with added challenges like no rental history or a criminal record, it becomes nearly impossible. This structured program helps individuals by encouraging them to follow a multi-step process: get a job, work, save money, and then ultimately find housing on their own. St. Vincent de Paul incentivizes this by providing a $3,000 match when residents save $3,000 on their own.

When graduated residents find housing, they are also met with a fully furnished living space, thanks to the generosity of a local organization called Furnish Hope. Furnish Hope provides everything from plates to bedding to create a place where residents can feel at home. St. Vincent de Paul is honored to give opportunities like these to members of our community, however, none of it would be possible without the help and generosity of people and organizations like Hayden Homes and Furnish Hope.
